I don't think so. I'm unfamiliar with the proxy you use so I don't know
what it can handle.
Here all I need to do is setup my default route to point to the server.
On the server I must enable forwarding, and I setup an ipchains ruleset to
masq internal addressing, ip_masq_ftp module is loaded to enable active
(default) ftp (passive will work fine without the module).

Ping requires icmp masqing in order to work (a configuration option in
recent kernels). Forwarding (and masqing) must be turned on for this to
work if your proxy does not support ping.

This should not be difficult. It is beyond the scope of the diald mailing
list however. If you'd like some additional help. I'll be glad to do what
I can (off-list) or send pointers to some network configuration sites.
