Hi Jason
I tried this but the file is empty, there was no /etc/options.ttyS0 file so created one and just put 'debug' on the first line. Is this right?. I added the
'*.=debug                          /var/log/debug' to the /etc/syslog.conf file.

I dont actually understand y the port would change its settings. I didn't touch the modem settings or port settings, all i changed was the phone number to dial and the information in the pap-secrets file. So it should work, unless AT&T Worldnet have some strange form of pap, but thet have assured me it works, I use pap in a 95 machine and there is no problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Try adding

*.=debug                                                /var/log/debug

to your syslog, then putting debug in /etc/options.ttyS0, this will log the LCP between
your machine and the ISP.

Perhaps somehow your ttyS0 device defaults to 7 bit ascii, instead of 8 bit. Sorry, dunno how to change though.

Hi
I sent this message a few days ago but I think i may have left out a few words, as I have not seemed to have gotten any replies. So I am sending it out again. If anyone can help me with this problem, please let me know. Thanks

I am having a few problems configuring diald to dial a different ISP
My setup works fine at the moment using my current setup, but I wish to move over to a different  ISP as the one I am currently using is very slow and is giving me constant problems. I am running RH 5.2 with diald .066. I change all the nessescary settings as recommended by the new ISP but it fails to connect. Both ISP's use PAP, so all I basically changed was the info in pap-secrets and diald.conf file. and the connect script

Here is the output of my log when it tries to connect.

Any Help would be appricaited.
