Environment: RH Linux 6.0, Cyrix 586/133, 16 MB RAM as server running dhpcd,
DNS, Samba, IPForwarding and IP Masguerade
Adtran Express 3000 ISDN modem external on 16650 port /dev/ttyS0, NE2000
ethernet card, Windows 95 and 98 clients.
Pppd 2.3.7, diald 0.99

I installed the rpm (thanks, Ryszard, and I also found the archive on
Sunsite where you can get the same rpms), and the diald in it complains
about missing tap modules, then gives an error in creating the slip device
sl0: SIOCIFMETRIC : operation not supported. So I unpacked the source and
compiled it (no errors in this version) and installed it but it behaves the
same way. Besides the messages, this version will bring up the link but
doesn't seem to bring it down (using the same ruleset as before).

I suppose there is a kernel version issue here? I'm running 2.2.5-15, which
I suppose is ancient since I got it in June. And I can pick through the
ruleset, but tcpdump doesn't reveal anything that wasn't happening before.
The main culprit is a 29-byte udp packet on port 2348. If it weren't for it,
pppd demand mode would be enough for my purposes.
