I'm running 99.3 on Mandrake 7. distro, and also overlaid pmfirewall with
its default rules (to save getting out of my depth in ipchains).
My Netscape browser is set to open on a blank page - however whenever I open
the browser on the blank page, diald starts up my dial-up link .
Today I let the link hangup at my usual timeout (30mins) while I was doing
other things, but left the browser open. When I came to close the browser
before logging off, diald brought up the link again as Netscape was closing
- not much point in that!
I have browser prefs set to allow cookies after warning me first - but no
cookie warning accomapnies these unwanted diald-ups.
Can anyone kindly point me to what ipchains rules or other settings I should
check so that Netscape only stimulates diald when I actually ask it to?
the collecive wisdom on this list has been much appreciated so far.
Richard.
