Thank you Duncan for mentioning the quote on the end of the connect line in
the diald.conf but unfortunately the problem remains the same so I'm posting
the message again with the correction made to the diald.conf script.

Subject: Connect Script Failed
Hi,
I have just got hold of SUSE 6.4 and have installed
diald-0.99.1-78.i386.rpm.
When I start up diald I am getting these errors :
diald[1002]: Calling site 192.168.0.2
diald[1002]: running '/usr/sbin/chat/'
chat[1072]: Can't get terminal parameters: Invalid argument
diald[1002]: SIGCHLD[4]:pid 1072 diald, status 512
diald[1002]: Connect script failed.
diald[1002]: Closing /dev/modem
I have checked the chat script and it works fine.
I have included my diald.conf.
if anyone can point me in the right direction or has had similar problems
i'd be very grateful as have now lost almost all of remaing hair.
Aaron
