Newsgroup archives are great!! Caldera calls rc.local upon entering run
levels 2-5, so it is run more than once on a boot up. Found a nice debate
arguing pros/cons to that setup, but bottom line is, don't put anything such
as diald in the rc.local file on Caldera. Not sure how other OS's handle it
though. I guess I'm mentioning it 'cuz with that setup, if the system
bounces between run levels for whatever reason, multiple instances of diald
will inevitably follow.
