You said you used Syslinux in your previous post (which I'd rather use
than DOS+Loadlin, but couldn't get to work).

Ah, I'm trying to use the Linux-MTD/NFTL stuff in Linux-2.4.0-test8. It
seems to work apart from the read errors at first, then when you
try to remount it you find that it's corrupted the FS :(
