Sorry to join in without providing real help on the subject.

Does it have to be a clone resource at all? I configured a colocation
constraint that the resource cannot run on the host which it should
control even if it's safe on itself simply because it has nothing to do
there. 

I guess regardless how many nodes I have only 1 needs to have the "key"
STONITH to shot the failing node in the head and it doesn't have to be
the DC or anything.

Hmmm... I didn't test mine at all, I better test it asap then...
