I have a script to build those minimal images from an RPM repo, dating
back to the days where I used User Mode Linux instead of Xen. They're
probably not that useful to others. But it does create something very
very close to a minimal install, as far as that is possible,
pre-configured to be able to run CTS.
If you have SLES or openSUSE latest, there's a yast2 module to build
virtual machine images as well.
Building virtual machine images is pretty easy. I think Andrew has a
bunch of scripts for vmware too.

The building block part of the Novell docs is intended to fill exactly
this gap eventually.
