It's was a jest, of cause, but still, I guess it's a fundamental concept of "Master"/"Slave" relationship. If "slave" doesn't do it's job, is it really "running". Lets transfer the same situation to the mysql agent. If mysql replica doesn't replicate anything, is it "running" ? mysqld process will be running, but it's useless. It's like an answer to "Do you know what time it is?" question.
