Greetings!

I'm a Linux newbie and beginning to really like it. Everything has been
going reasonably well as I have managed to recompile the 2.0.35 kernel and
get the ax25 utils on the air without a lot of trouble.

I am in the process of setting up a switch very similar to that at
www.febo.com/packetnet/mvtma.html. I also used the fbb-config.html
doucment at that site. I also relied heavily on notes on this list from
Karl. In fact, I pasted in his port.sys file and carefully edited it to
match my switch.

Here is what I have run into to far. Any help would be appreciated. If I
start the daemon version of fbb, it starts off and then goes into a side
scrolling loop with the message Creating file Statis.dat (Y/N)? No number
of Y's ever stops it.

If I start the program in an XTerm window I get a "Unkown value 127"
error.

The Terminal window comes up, but I get a could not connect to
k0hyd.ampr.org:3286 error.

Incidentally, I can telnet to k0hyd.ampr.org OK. But, if I telnet to that
port, I get a connection refused.

Likewise, if I connect to a neighbor node and come back in to ICTBBS which
is the netbbs port, I get a busy.

I can however come back into my node, KSICT, and doing most anything I
want.

I presently have #ICTSW (netrom) on k0hyd-14, the two ports on k0hyd-13
and k0hyd-12. I have KSICT on k0hyd-1 (netnod), ICTBBS on k0hyd-3 and hope
to have ICTDX (netdx) running the DXNET software on k0hyd-4.

The first fbb problem I ran into was the xffb.sh script was calling xfbb
if it was running in an XTerm window. I changed that line to run xffbX and
this got me to my present position. BTW, xfbb.sh runs the same way if I
rename the xffbX file to xffb.

I hope I've given enough details to help nail down a solution. All help
will be appreciated.

Thanks es 73
