:Hmm. Is * used in anything else than as a port wildcard ([OH2BNS VIA *]) ?
:And would behaviour where callsign without SSID would mean any SSID break
:too many configs around the world? I can look into implementing into this
:if noone else wants to.
Sounds dangerous. My call N5IN is used on 3 nodes on the same frequency,
N5IN-2, N5IN-3, N5IN-5. A call to N5IN-$ would get all of them to respond
which sounds like a problem. Similarly if a call to N5IN would get all of
them to respond would cause a problem as well. The call without an SSID,
actually -0, I have reserved for the BBS. The remote nodes are TheNet so
the suggested change will have no effect on them, but just giving you an
idea of why this might not be a good idea.
Note that the ALIAS always reponds to ALIAS-1,-2,-3 etc which is fine. Its
a way to circumvent the routing tables when needed.
Perhaps I have missed the point entirely? If its just an option for
testing, the N5IN-$, I guess it would do no harm.
