The move to revise AX25 is hardly new or secret. The ARRL 7th Computer
Networking Conference Proceedings dated October 1, 1988 has several
articles on the subject. Terry Fox, WB4JFI authored his proposal in this
edition. Eric Scace, K3NA provided an overview as well as an article
introducing the use of System Description Language (SDL) for AX.25, also in
this same edition.

Question: Where and when were the details for Flexnet first made public?
Did the Flexnet implimenters coordinate their proposals with the ARRL
Digital Committee?

(I'm really not trying to promote conflict over this issue since everyone's
goals are to improve packet radio, but am suggesting that everyone should
work closer together.) Incidently the 7th ARRL CNC has excellent
discussions on AX.25 and is recommended reading for those that need to come
up to speed.
