I would not try to install Red Hat on a system with only a 40M disk. Red
Hat depends too much on configuration using a graphical interface, it
practically requires that the X Window system be installed just to
configure, even if you have no interest in running anything but a text
interface for your applications. X requires a lot of disk space. Trying to
configure Red Hat by hand is difficult.
My experience is only with Red Hat and Slackware, and the latter would be
my choice for such a small system.
