I have more or less the same setup. I just checked and they ARE both
in /usr/sbin.

Note that I was unable to compile the AX25 utils until I got the
ax25-utils-2.1.42a (glibc/libc6) .tgz source file from
sun01.idf.uni-heidelberg.de. It compiled OK and it also correctly
installed some header files, which are apparently not in the
.rpm file I got from from a RedHat mirror. (If they are, then where
did it put them ??)

Obviously the .rpm file from SuSE may do the job for you - I have not
tried it.
