One problem I have is getting map data. The maps were generated on an
Acorn Archimedes in 1990 and converted to MS-DOS and then Linux. I no
longer have the data and so recreating maps is currently difficult. If you
can supply the data (or a reference to it) i'd gladly do some new ones.
I am not in favour of losing the borders, in the middle of a large land
mass (eg Europe or the USA) these boundaries allow you to visualise where
the footprint is. I could make them dynamic though ...
One thing I may look into is adding spots to denote the DX locations that
I have in the list on the map. It would certainly look pretty :-)

Good idea. How about a cross with the satellite name under it ?

True. It was OK for me since the dot stands out in the UK. Maybe by (a)
making the user location bigger and (b) sticking the users ID (callsign)
under it would help. Thats the reason why I ask for the users callsign on
the preferences dialogue, I had thought about it before.

Not so easy to do. I may look into it, but I am not so sure its very easy.
That was one of the reasons for including multiple maps, to remove the
need to zoom the map in any particular area, and hence remove the need for
window resizing.
