Ahh, the dreaded signal 11 error.  Often means something is wrong with
your hardware -- flaky RAM, toasted CPU, junky mainboard, dying disk,
just about anything.  There is a FAQ about this somewhere, go to a
search engine and use the string (or some such):

"singal 11" +FAQ

A thorough check of the system (run a decent memory checker overnight,
inspect the mainboard, compare notes with others, etc.) and possible
remove & replace treatment may resolve the problem.  Or just retire the
machine to Windows only duty (or the junk pile).
