For xfbbd, it is not possible. Not even to use a keypress history
with up/down arrow.

With JNOS/DOS I always used a external mailer. I used PCELM, bmazk,
bm and a last one I cannot remember. Those, linked with QEDIT gave
very interesting and powerful possibilities. Pasting, split or
stacked window editing, etc. I must say that what I had in DOS was
more powerful for text mode manipulations, unless there are
undiscovered reserves for me in Linux. DesqView allowed quite a few
manipulations, too. It is unarguable that Linux multitasking is
faster and more stable, and it is really a very good multiprotocol
network platform. There is always a tradeoff...and a need to re-learn
the way you do things.

Now, if I want something fancy with XFBB, I use joe and "teaspoon
feed" the resulting file to /fbb/mail.in after the editing process.
(fbb is a symlink for /usr/local/fbb, it keeps me comfortable with
old uses)

For JNOS, you can use Pine and SMTP the results to JNOS. That works
well, I have used it for SMTP paths out of JNOS. Maybe it could work
well even for AX25 with a tweak or two in rewrite...

Of course, it is a workaround. Would be nice if FBB could regain
those nice features, or something like that, somehow.

I have a bug, seemingly related to the video card (Cirrus 5428) I use
at home, and is that pagination does not work well with xfbbC, and
only get a "slit" in XWindows with xfbb7.00g18. I have not been able
to find out what's wrong. It happens either local or remote. Telnet
paging does work well, but forces me to 'mva' only to /fbb/users, not
to anywhere.

At CO9BQQ, with a ET3000 card and a CGA display, I have none of the
above problems (in text mod, of course).

Keeping on learning...
