To answer the question, I am still trying to get my initial install of AX25
utils to work; I've asked several for help on this, however they are still
grappling with all of the changes themselves, so they are not of much help
right now.... Things are normally confusing enough, but with all of the
conflicting information flying across this reflector concerning various
kernels, RPM's, patches, workarounds, etc, it is a wonder that any newcomer
does not give up in disgust after a short period of time... . I am not new to
Linux. I've been running it for several years... (Slakware with TNOS). It was
pointed out to me some time ago by those thought to be wiser and more
knowledgable, that running AX25 native code with Linux would be a desireable
thing. However, considering the current state of affairs with the AX25-HOWTO
and the other things I've mentioned above, it does not seem worth the
constarnation, at least until things can be worked out, proven to be stable,
and properly documented, so that newcomers and veterans alike can reliably
reproduce the desired results... TNOS worked well for me for years, it is
stable, and I don't have to blow up my platform every time I have to install
a new feature, so until such time as I can get the AX25 utilities and
associated features compiled into my kernel, I shall stick with what I know
works. Thanks...
