I had the same problem with 2.2.9. I use RedHat 6.0 with 2.2.5-15 kernel.
Downgraded to 2.2.5 again and now I have no problems. Guess there's something
wrong with the kernel. I thought it was my machine.
Guess I'll have to look at 2.2.11 to see if the problem is still there and if
so perhaps send a bug report...
