Also a good point. There's a Hellschreiber mini-contest on this weekend.
Narrow IF filters are desirable to minimise QRM from other modes.
My FT-847 will not allow use of CW filters on SSB receive, so I have
to operate split (CW narrow on receive, SSB on transmit). Works well
enough but is frustrating. At least the FT-847 automatically adjusts
the frequency when you switch from SSB to CW; my previous rig (IC-726)
did not and I had to adjust it by hand.
