Using a web browser as a front-end is (IMO) a good idea - if for no other
reason it allows connectivity with other OS's. In a multi-op scenario it
is going to be difficult enough to find enough laptops equipped with
ethernet, let alone Linux.

As I tend to get involved with special event stations (GX0MWT - Marconi
Wireless Telegraph for International Marconi Day yesterday) the provision
of a UPS for the server is less of a problem. However if the "front end"
could work with Lynx :-) and IE99 :-( it would be great.

Also, the British authorities, maybe others too, but I doubt it, require
that if an electronic log is used, it is kept on independant media (a disk
devoted to that purpose?), the ability to mirror to a floppy or even a
tape device may be useful.

I am not a programmer (to me C is the letter befor D) the only way I can
contibute to this is by suggestion, helpful or otherwise!

True!
