I agree with you.  Perhaps a name change is in order.
Many who write this list in error may have a different 
interpretation of 'hams'.  Maybe we should be called 
linux-AmateurRadio. 

Sending them to the 'newbie" may have a negative 
connotation.  It could be changed to some less 
demeaning term like linus-experts.  

Its not that we are too knowledageable to be bothered 
with their questions.  We just have a narrow focus.  I
call myself an Amateur Radio Operator because, believe
it or not many people just don't get 'ham'.
