I have the same card. Opensound says that they will have a beta by Sept. 99.

Are there any problems using a hard drive with the ultra
ATA/66 interface with Linux-Mandrake? Specifically, I am
looking at a Quantum 6.4 GB CX. Any info that you can
provide is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

To Whom It May Concern:
I'm interested in an ABIT BP6 motherboard. BP6 is a dual socket
370/celeron board. I just wonder if anyone is using this board with 2
celerons under linux kernel 2.2.x?
1. Are there any problems with SMP and dual celerons setup?
2. What is the performance gain one processor vs. two?
3. How does a dual ( for example 466Mhz ) celeron setup compares to
single P3 500Mhz or 550Mhz?
4. How good are the ABIT boards?

Mine works out of the box with RH 6.0 at 24-bit, 1024x768. Default install too.

Hello,
I am trying to install RedHat 6.0 on an 18gb WD18000RTL hard drive. I
have a primary NTFS partition of 4 gigs that I would like to keEp on the
drive already. The rest of the space is unformatted and that leaves about
14 gigs of unformatted free space. I have used only the Windows NT
install to make the 4 gig NTFS partition.

The expert mode in fdisk shows:
size:18043 Cylinders:34960 Heads:16 Precomp:65535 Landz:34959

The bios on my Gigabyte 6BXE recognized my HDD this way and that is how it
is set up in the bios.

When I reach the stage of the RedHat install that requires the partitions
to be made, I try to make the first / partition of 100 megs and DiskDruid
tells me there is not enough space available for the partition. I have
tried enlarging and shrinking the partition to no avail.

Next I tried using fdisk to make the partitions but when I use the v
command to verify the partition tanle, fdisk tells me my partitions
overlap.

With 14 gigs of free space on my primary master HDD this oughta work. I
have no concept what is going on here. I would like to end up with a dual
boot system between NT4.0 and RedHat 6.0 Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

My icq# is 11035638 and on AOL IM I am dreamr0102 Feel free to contact me
either way.

Thank you all for your help,

Phillip S.

hello I'm Charlie,
I've following problem and I hope anyone can help me, please, please.
-> I have a second PC, it's a i386SX with mathematically co-processor,
and I tried to install a RedHat 5.1 system there, but in the setup I get
the message that there is no drive where it can copy the files.
First I thought the IDE-controller was the reason because it's an old
16bit ISA-controller. But when I tried two other controllers (16bit ISA
cards too, but newer) I got the same message.
The HD itself is OK because I've already installed a system when it was
build in my Pentium-PC. But I have to install system on it's own PC, for
the right X-server and other peripheral, you now.

Using it as an X terminal should be trivial. It sounds like that's not
what you want to do though. I've never messed with the X terminal
version of the th classic, so some of this is from ignorance. Can you
put a local disk on it? That sounds more like what you're wanting to
do. Then you install a minimal Linux with X.

The two cards are probably conflicting with each other. The 905 should
be a PNP card. Try one of three things:

1. Set up your BIOS to configure them
2. Set them up with the Linux PNP configuration utilities
3. Use the 3Com utility under windoze to take at least one of them out
of PNP mode and set the I/O address and IRQ manually.

Personally, I would try option 3, as a "hard coded" IRQ and I/O address
is easier to work with.
