I won't comment on the binary compatibility issues, but be VERY careful
if you intend to use a Solaris backup application under Linux.
Many backup programs (e.g. dump(8)) read the filesystem directly from a
raw device. So something that understands the Solaris UFS will, of course,
fail miserably under Linux.
