Final version will be fixed. > 3. Problem is - that I don't know that much about it, what to publish and where to point people to.. if someone wants to write the "embedded" part the same style as I wrote it - I'll be more then happy to add it. > 4. Browsers: There are a number of mozilla-based browser, most notably > Galeon, which is the more common on the gnome environment (what about > nautilus) Nautilus, Galeon are based on Mozilla if I'm not mistaken. I could also mention KDENox (which is like Galeon but based on Konqueror's HTML), but I decided to focus on the main 2 browsers that the user gets when he installed Linux. > 5. You mention that gnome 2 will be ready on march, and you also mention > Evolution+Ximina Connector. When will both be available for *Gnome 2*? Well, I said March about Gnome 2.0 - and it's taken from Gnome schedule. I'm amazed that they will do only 1 beta testing and then release it as gold - specially since they changed the very base Gnome libraries. (gtk). Why the Gnome team only doing 1 beta testing with such a major version change? beyond me to know... > 6. everybody: anybody with a good description of Gnome Office? I'll be glad to hear about this issue too... > 7. You only mention the name StarOffice, and not OpenOffice (most distros > will probably ship with OpenOffice) Wrong. Sun has signed up with all the major Linux distributors to ship STAR Office 6.0 and NOT Open Office. Star Office 6.0 will include some parts that are not open source/proprietary. (like fonts not available in open office). > 8. Development environments: You neglect to mention the traditional unix > development environment. Rational: linux distro typically comes with > better-configured programs. Whoever worked with those programs under unix > (and spent too long configuring them them) or worked with emacs etc. under > windows may be surprised to see what he gets in linux out-of-the-box. Oh, ok, will fix this. > 9. I believe that you slightly over-rate integrated development > environments. You also don't clearly seperate "developing in KDE from > "developing for KDE" For a good reason - you'll be quite surprised how many projects are being with KDevelop and got nothing to do with GUI, QT, KDE (like ... umm.. Intel C/C++ compiler...). > 10. links: Maybe add a list of relevant links in the end Will be added at the final version. Thanks for your comments.
