To some it all up in a few sentences. I think that many here have told their small techie problem and have clearly expressed they are not going to make the extra effort to fix their mail client. They also decided that they are not going to remain on the list if it would allow Hebrew. (whether from psychological/political/talking about a tech problem which can be solved in the same time it takes them to write emails that says how difficult it is ;) Anyhow, I think the list members where very clear. they Don't want the list to allow Hebrew.
I think that a second list is the most appropriate solution, since any who would prefer Hebrew can just move to/add the list. "IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME" style. To the people who says it would split the list, You have proven my point! :) wouldn't it be the same as deciding to allow Hebrew into the list when 1 half don't want to. and as a result it would still be split. And by doing nothing, it will be the same as dooming the list because as you know, anyone can open a list. And by taking the decision out of the list members hands would only harm the list.
