well, in this case, maybe it's not the BIOS but the CDROM unit itself. there
are varios cdroms that fail to read certain types of cd's depending how they
were written, maybe it's the same with booting. try to check if this laptop
can READ the rh cd's, ie. boot from something (dos, win, linux) and mount
the cdrom.
