Well, thats a big package to install just for displaying X, isn't it? ;) > > I tried StarWin-32 latest version on Windows 98 connecting to my Red Hat > > 7.3 machine, and it seems that in "single mode" it works fine, but not in > > "multi mode". > > (Actually, in such "multi mode" a complete desktop is quite inconvinient. > A simple shell login can be much faster and take less screen real-estate.) True. The Commercial X servers are really lagging behind XFree. I didn't see many commercial X servers supporting LBX, and NONE of them support the newer stuff - XRender, XCursor, XDND, Anti Aliasing etc. My guess is that they're used to work like the old Unix days.. when was X11R6 released and what is the date today? BTW: CodeWeavers are hacking now cygwin's X server to have fast rootless X support and they'll roll all their modifications back in the near future. (it's for their CrossOver server) Thanks, Hetz ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
