Got some more responses.. the OpenZaurus project (www.openzaurus.org) creates an alternative ROM for the zaurus. I asked the main developer and he said that it could run on any arch as long as a kernel for it is available. He said running it on the board specified wouldn't be an issue. I'm sure he'd be glad to help.. name is kergoth on the freenode network.
