Depends on which modems. The old batch (all what Rotal gives, the Alcatel 
that Bezeq sold) have used pptp (or PPPoA). The new modems from Bezeq (the 
externals) are PPPoE only.

I managed to make the ALE070 work with Linux. The ALE130 and ALE180 (PCI) 
could be used with Linux (my guess only) but Rotal didn't give me any 
hardware to play with yet. The Dynamode (external and internal), and the 
Apache can be used with Linux - but as I said, Google is your friend here :/

All ISP's in Israel supports PPPoE. Fact is, it's not related to them so 
much - it's more related to Bezeq, which now officially supports PPPoE with 
their Samsung external modems (as well as hacked Alcatel modems - but you're 
on your own now).
