Just a correction. This book is by Matt Welsh and others: http://www.iglu.org.il/LDP/LDP/gs/gs.html I remember reading it and can also recommend it. Nowadays, Linux systems tend to be more integrated and full of administration tools, but this book is still pertinent as it covers the bare Linux essentials.
