Shalom all,

How do I determine what locations I should set for the various directories when
compiling and installing an upgraded program?

In this case I am running Mandrake 9.1 with samba 2.2.7a and I want to upgrade
to 3.0RC3 from the CVS. I have downloaded everything, configured, compiled and
installed it but the default is to put it in /usr/local/samba. Is there a way to
find the original configuration files or command and just copy the parameters
from there? I have been using slocate and such to find the current locations of
the files. What is the best procedure for upgrading in this type of situation?

Thanks
