Also, I think you are thinking sourceforge is smaller than it is. You are probably thinking sourceforge is just things like http://www.sf.net/projects/tesseract. Actually, sourceforge also gives you http://tesseract.sf.net. If your project is web based, yes, you can run it there too.

And so are the other things... There are many open source projects that are not
inside sf, but still people need to know about it and publish it's existence to
the world...
