I believe that most of today's Linux distros/kernels support VLAN;
However, I guess that I still have to do with it something.
The connection is, obviously, between me and an ISP.
And this ISP requires me to buy a Cisco 1721 for $1200.
However, I already have much more sophisticated router, based on Devil-
Linux, which I built myself (AND a Cisco 1005, currently connecting the
Frame-Relay to the Devil-Linux, which will become useless with the ATM-
Direct, because it has only one Ethernet port).
<PRE>
Current topology:
=================
Frame-Relay ------> Cisco-1005 Trusted-LAN
(V35) \ /
\ /
Devil-Linux
/ \
/ \
ADSL -----> Alcatel-SpeedTouch DMZ
(yes, the Devil-Linux is the gateway of FOUR different networks, and
contains 4 NICs)
Planned tolopogy:
=================
ATM-Direct Trusted-LAN
\ /
\ /
Devil-Linux
/ \
/ \
ADSL -----> Alcatel-SpeedTouch DMZ
</PRE>
Is it possible?
How do I configure the Linux to support it?
Can my ISP prevent me from using Linux for this purpose?
Can my side be compatible with the VLAN on the ISP side although he
uses Cisco and I use Linux?
Thanks,
