Hi,

I have Debian installed on two servers, and IBM Netfinity 5000 and an
HP Proliant DL380, and I would like to make the most of their service
ports.

The DL380 has the service port redirected to ttyS0. I can see the the
BIOS boot sequence via minicom, and if I set up GRUB and inittab
correctly I can also see the Linux boot sequance and login prompt.
However, once Linux takes over I can only access Linux functions and
not the BIOS (like the <ESC>R<ESC>r<ESC>R reboot sequence). Is this
normal for the ServerWorks management functions?

On the IBM the console port is not a normal com port. I can get to the
BIOS and service processor functions, but I haven't got a clue how to
redirect GRUB/Lilo and ttSx to it so I can also get a console.

Any suggestions / pointers / links welcome.

Gil
