The quick&dirty method, which I use, is to combine a Web site and FTP:
First, upload the relevant files from one computer to a subdirectory in
a Web site, which you control, and which has room for those files (in a
password-protected subdirectory already set up).
Then, download those files into the other computer.
Advantages:
1. You do not need to leave your home computer turned on and connected
to the Internet when you are not at home.
2. You do not need to keep a port for incoming connections into your
home computer open for several hours (allowing crackers to attack your
computer via that port).
3. The only special software both computers need is a FTP client
software.
Disadvantages:
1. Two transfers, instead of one transfer.
2. You need room in a Web hosting service.
3. This method is not 'cool'.
