Hi Ira, Gabor,
There is a huge difference between supporting "GNU/Linux" and supporting "Ubuntu". You might be able to convince some unsuspecting and less knowledgable customers that you support "Ubuntu" and/or all other distros derived from "GNU/Linux", but unless you really have specific "Ubuntu" knowledge you will be faking it and run the risk of getting caught (as I do at times). To support a distro you really need to know the history of its releases, the versions of the packages in each release, the specific points where the distro differs from others, and the points that are distro-specific such as the installation programs, the mirrors, the availability of the people who release the distro, the mailing lists and other things as well. I recommend that you only tell people that you support what you really are intimately familiar with on a daily basis, and not things that it would seem that you should be able to find your way around in based on your expertise in other things.
Regards,

 - yba

I provide support for GNU/Linux servers, should I go list myself on every
server distro's website there is?

Only on those you want to support.
That would be called marketing.

On the other hand if the cloning process is not working well yet, then you might
not want to do more marketing.

On the bigger picture, when deciding on which distro to use companies will take
into account how easy it is to find local support.
