In the compiler's or the linker's.
Another idea:
Are you absolutely sure that the effective compiler and linker flags are the
same in both platforms?
I mean, not only the flags specified in the makefile, but also any flags passed
from the environment, configuration files, etc. which might differ in both
platforms.
