For the last few years, we've been using an accounting system (based
on mod_perl and MySQL) that we developed ourselves. But we haven't
had time to keep it up-to-date, and it's showing its age with lots of
annoying bugs that have gone unfixed, and features that we've been
trying to find time to insert for years. (Although there are some
cool features, such as producing a LaTeX invoice from a template that
is then printed onto our invoices.)
So over the last two months, we've been switching over to Tutos. I
decided that I would rather contribute effort to something with a
community than pour time and money into something that only we use.
The invoicing in Tutos is woefully primitive, but the other features
are pretty impressive. However, it takes a while to get used to its
interface, and something are less complete than others.
Tutos is pretty easy to install, and while we're still learning our
way around it, I'm pretty impressed and happy so far.
