According to me u shouldn't be running
GNOME/Enlightenment on such a system. I agree i was
running it on a P100/8MB a while ago (I was working on
GNOME dev then, so had no choice :( ) , but i wouldn't
call it even slow. Its REALLY slow. I suggest u stick
to KDE. GNOME and ENlightenment are HUGE memory
hoggers. Especially Enlightenment, which uses Imlib,
for all kinds of image manipulation, which take a lot
of time to execute. GNOME also uses imlib as a binding
to the gdk (gdk-imlib), so even thats a bad idea. For
daily needs, I'd stick with KDE, unless u're like me
and can't let go of the GNU! ;-)
