I'm kind of surprised - because Taher Elgamal was the chief scientist
at Netscape who designed SSL. But a quick websearch says that you're
right. I'm left wondering if there is a technical reason why it is not
one of the algorithms that SSL supports.

PS: Taher used to sit a couple of cubes away from me at Netscape and I
realized who this guy was several months after I left netscape.
