I have used neither of the two. But the linux high availability website
has links which say that both are log based and/or journalling filesystems
designed to reduce downtime due to filesystem checks (and corruption). It
is also suggested somewhere (I forget where) that the reisser system might
be incorporated into ext3 (which is still in developmental stage).
