hi all
i hv HP Brio PC running on RHL 6.1- absolute fantastic- running along for 1.5 months
w/o a single
reboot!!!
only prob is i cant make it speek- i mean, the sound is not confifured- i tried
sndconfig, it says :
your snd card is Cirrus Logic|CS4614/22/24 CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio
Accelerator- get the
driver from:
alsa-project.org
i dnloaded the rpm alsa-driver-0.4.1e-1.i386.rpm and installed- it did w/o any
error- now,
if i say
mpg123 somesong.mp3 i get the folowing error:
/dev/dsp: No such device
and the prg stops-
if i attempt to start the alsa sound driver using
/etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound start
i get the this:
ERROR: alsactl not found
an attempt to find the above said file (if it is) turns negative-
please help me out- or do i hv to start from scratch?? if so, pl detail out the steps-
i m sure
many of u buddies r happily listening to the mp3's on the SAME card-
