where i have posted a dial in configurator shell script.
for connecting and experimenting, you would not even require an intercom
but a straight modem cable, connected from one modem to the other modem
with the cable in at the line socket at both ends. then you have to issue
kill -USR1 `cat /var/run/mgetty.[xxxx].pid` after dialling is complete on
the other machine.
change [xxxx] for your modem port (ttyS1, ttyS2 etc)
