Am not much of a h/w geek, but here is what i generally do, using
something I picked up from dunno where...
To get the Refresh rate, there's this simple eqn..
RR = No of lines*VRR*1.05
For your 55e, rr at 1024*768 @75 Hz would be, hmmm...~61kHz, Does the
monitor support this, if this is at the higher end of the specs,
there might be problems

I guess now you can work out and see whether the monitor supports the
resolutions you need. What does the Samtron 55e support, BTW.
