This may sound heretical, but it's not easy to do R&D in Linux. I
don't know of any screen which comes up at install time (for instance)
and says, ``please try the following to get information about Linux
and its commands: (1) man -k, (2) look in /usr/doc, (3) info command,
(4) look for a relevant HOWTO, ...'' If this happened it would help
new users a lot.
I'm not saying that Linux is not documented well... on the contrary it
seems to be documented /too/ well, without offering a single-point
help system which allows you to access all the documentation (a la MS
Winduhs, which scores well. Of course, there's hardly any
documentation, but that's another story).
