You've got a point there. On one side I do my bit to promote Linux on
the desktop and on the other I crib when an average joe doesn't act
like a geek. But...
There _is_ a link to a page called 'What to do before posting to the
list' (http://botsie.tripod.com/beforeposting) that is added to the end
of posts in the list. Sure... it may not be the best guide on the web
-- but it _does_ list the steps you mentioned. It's a start at least.
You, Suresh, Nikhil, Thaths, and all the other guys in the small group
that have all the answers ;-) are not being _paid_ for your help. The
list doesn't owe anybody answers, least of all to those who haven't
shown themselves deserving of it.
I may be unduly harsh, but I have seen lists that have degenerated to
chaos because the pillars of the list got tired of answering the same
questions over and over and just dropped out. I know a lot of people in
Blr who are not on this list because they can't handle the volume.
