Yeah, but fetchmail -v slows things up a lot.  Further, I prefer running
fetchmail in the foreground because I check several accounts on freemail
boxen, and there, I prefer to see what's going on in real time.

If there's a _large_ (~ 1 meg) mail waiting for you, or your pop server is
timing out, I prefer to know right then (so I can telnet in and view the
file in mutt / pine before downloading a useless mp3 to my box), rather
than after the fact, like when you run fetchmail in the background.
