[LIH] Domain name reg.

I plan to register a domain name and setup a personal web site. But i
donot know the advantages/differences of doing so on a unix/linux server
and a nt server. So what could be the differences between the two ? Also
any suggestions on whom to contact to register the domain cheaply and to
host the site ?
